Face Value

Issues at the office actually makes me ponder about how people look at life.
Indeed, physical qualities and how one presents himself is an important factor because no matter how everyone says that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, simply said, life doesn't work that way. Let's say, you want to apply for a job that is professionally recognized as an office type. Normally, you would go with your best shirt, pants and shoes. The things that you know that looks good on you. You want to look your best because how the interviewer sees you at first sight can affect how the application would turn out. Yes, looking your best is important. But have we all forgotten the  most relevant thing? QUALIFICATION. Are you fit for the job? Are you capable of accomplishing the task? Are you a multitasker to take on the demands of the boss?

I never wanted to work at the ER. Working as a part of the TRIAGE team never lingered in my head...even in my dreams. Why? Because I don't think that I would be able to do the task properly. I don't have the skills to be one of them. Yes I know that there can be training, but why would I train there wherein I didn't want to be there in the first place? Another thing is that I know that I can do training, but I know my capabilities, my limit and my specialties. I never saw myself as an MT. lol. I know that if I tried to go in that department, I would be mocked, laughed at because I'm not fit for the job. My petite body is not fit to get all those bloody bodies work their way to the stretcher and anyway, I'm always mistaken as a child and they are going to wonder if I'm really a REAL nurse. Reality bites and sometimes, it pisses me off. So, anyway, like I said, one should know their capabilities before dipping themselves into an unfamiliar territory.

I remember what Patricio Soyao asked me when I first applied as an online english teacher.
"Did you see the people outside? That's how they teach. Do you think that you can do it too?"
I vaguely recall that my answer is a very shy "YEAH SURE".  In the back of my mind, I was thinking what the heck am I getting myself into? I'm not a teacher. But I guess I'm really that determined to try it. I know that my english is not perfect. Yes, I can speak because I've been studying the language since like forever. I was trained to have good grammar skills and a neutral accent (actually trained to have an american accent) when I was still working as a call center agent. So I guess my only problem now is the teaching skills. HAHA. As far as I know, whenever I conduct a review for the upcoming examinations for my brother, it usually ends in tears. I don't know. But I don't have a lot of patience and he doesn't have a long one as well. Anyway, I'm good at copying. Actually, that is my forte. Copying skills. So I thought that I'll just look at how they do it and mimick it. I guess it worked. I'm still here, teaching for the past 9 months until of course, the end of February.

So, my question is this. Would you endure being laughed - at at your back because you keep on trying to fit in to something that is let's say, not your forte? Or just pray that your pretty face can cover up the grammar lapses?

No judgement guys. God is SOOOOO good. So sturdy well ok? lol!

Adam Sandler: Just Go With It

For years, I've been watching so much of Adam Sandler in the boob tube. From The Wedding Singer to The Grown Ups. He has never failed to make me laugh and think where can I find a guy who can make you feel so special like how he does to all his partners in the movies.

His antics and humor is quite the simple yet there's a punch to it. Napakagaling humirit kumbaga. He delivers a pun so simply that it actually makes it so naturally funny. I can't wait to watch this one though. Oooh Lala!

I like Alex Pettyfer.

Haha. I've only watched one movie by him but I simply loved his accent.  He looks great on cam. It's that simple. I was originally waiting for his movie with Vanessa Hudgens, BEASTLY, but it was moved to be shown I think during the summer of 2011. I found this one thru a friend's page and got curious about it.

Hopefully, it's worth watching coz I'm not going to watch the Breaking Dawn part 1 until, they had released the part 2. It's the same thing that I'm doing with the last movie of Harry Potter. My Reason? I don't want to feel so bitin pag pinanood ko cia sa movie. I know, its good but, it would be better if I get to watch the ending at the same time. Right?

Alex looks so good no matter how haggard (tama ba?) he is..

LOL!

by the way, this one is originally a novel, so I'm gonna get the book before I watch it!

MY 2011 HANDBOOK

I received another nice email from my Tita Vie this week.
I was actually getting ready to think of the things that I want to do this year.. let's try to check this out.. with my commentaries of course!!! I'll be highlighting the ones that I'll try to follow!

 HANDBOOK 2011

Health: 
1.       Drink plenty of water.  - I need this... I've been trying to this eversince.. haha!
2.       Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar. - I  can't follow this! I love food!!! But I'll try to do running as much as I can! 
3.       Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants..  - This one will be difficult but I think it will be a good idea!
4.       Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm and Empathy - I always try to be full of energy. Get rid of the nega vibes!!!
5.       Make time to pray. - Always do!!! Never forget to say thanks! 
6.       Play more games - I  like this. ENJOY life!
7.       Read more books than you did in 2010 . - I love books... I'll try to find more time to do this.
8.       Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day - and ponder....relax.. saraaap!!!
9.       Sleep for 7 hours.  - hahaha!!! ASA PA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
10.    Take a 10-30 minutes walk daily. And while you walk, smile. - hahaha.. I'll just try to run.. don't wanna look goofy smiling at everyone I see!

Personality: 
11.    Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about. - ok ok.. laitera kc ako.. so mahirap cia gawin.... hahaha..
12.    Don't have negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment. - TRY AND TRY AND TRY!!!!!!!!!!!! hahaha
13.    Don't over do. Keep your limits. - I  always try to explore the things that I didn't knew that I could possibly do!
14.    Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does. - When was I so serious anyway?
15.    Don't waste your precious energy on gossip. - CAN'T DO THIS!
16.    Dream more while you are awake - It's fun to do this.. especially in the office! lol!
17.    Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.. - Will be difficult.. I was thinking of trying to be so content with what I have.. except for career!
18.    Forget issues of the past. Don't remind your partner with His/her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness. - Yep! I don't want to be reminded as well anyway... 
19.    Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don't hate others. - Love everyone...but I'm going to be so plastic.. nah... I pick my friends.. and I don't love my the people I don't like.. lol
20.    Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present. - I forgot about it already?
21.    No one is in charge of your happiness except you. - and the people around you... ^_^
22.    Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn.  Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime. - sometimes, I feel like I want to drop out.. but I think life is a roller coaster.. so something exciting is bound to happen anyway..
23.    Smile and laugh more. - Makes you more and more prettier.. I believe..
24.    You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.... - Of course, if you say na panget ka.. di nako aangal pa..  

Society: 
25.    Call your family often. - means? hearing more problems? no thanks... OOPS! I forgot! be optimistic!!!
26.    Each day give something good to others. - I gotta pocket full of SUNSHINE!!!
27.    Forgive everyone for everything..  - Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven.
28.    Spend time w/ people over the age of 70 & under the age of  6. - It will make so much difference in my life and with their lives..
29.    Try to make at least three people smile each day. - So should I just smile at them then?
30.    What other people think of you is none of your business.- Why should I anyway?
31.    Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch. - Yes, I want to do this!

Life: 
32.    Do the right thing! - But there are times that I want to learn....  
33.    Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful. - Oh YES!!!
34.    GOD heals everything. - With faith and trust... HE surely does.
35.    However good or bad a situation is, it will change... - Again... be optimistic!
36.    No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up. - Yeah.. but my body is so difficult to command to!
37.    The best is yet to come.. - and be happy for it!
38.    When you awake alive in the morning, thank GOD for it. - Every day is a gift from GOD, that's why it is called the PRESENT!
39.    Your Inner most is always happy. So, be happy. - YES SIR!
