The Host by Stephenie Meyer

Aliens.

I've always had a point in my life wherein I believe some things that are out of the norm. Sometimes, I think of how life outside our planet can be or if "they" really do exist. I know, you'll say I've watched way too many shows in the boob tube for me to think of this, but would you believe if I say that I haven't watched a single episode of X-Files in my entire life? Haha. Yeah, its true. The reason? I simply don't like the soundtrack. It was just way too creepy for me.

Anyway, I had just finished reading another work of Stephenie Meyer which is THE HOST.

It was simply about aliens invading our planet by having them inserted into our body, thus, making the humans as a host to these foreign "Souls". Once inserted, the souls would then recover all the memories of the body and carry on with living the rest of their time as a new person on earth. The conflict here? Resistance. The body of Melanie Stryder  was used by an alien called Wanderer. Unfortunately, the mind of Mel was just very strong for her to be completely erased after the insertion. So now, two minds, one body. A story of well, as one would expect, a love triangle, struggle, adventure, sci - fi and a bit hope.

When I started reading the book, I was so bored with how everything was so detailed that I lost interest in continuing to finish it. It gave me time to finally find the peak of the story and enjoy it. I like how she was so creative in thinking of how things go outside our little green planet. It was so different from Twilight that there was no trace of resemblance if compared.  I also liked how everything was so easy for the aliens because they have all the resources to stay alive. How the so called Spiders have the answers to everything. How Science have been so advanced that no sickness is not cured. And how we can only have one soul to love in the entire universe.

I never guessed how the ending would go and I was happy to find out how it went. I was satisfied of the story that it gave me much thought of how would things go on earth if that would really happen. Would we fight back? Would they win? Would we really be as renegade as how humans are in the story? If so, I'd like to be a SOUL. Someone who can have a decision to have a new life. A life that is worth living.

Making Friends, Making Gifts

Having so many friends can be so frustrating during Christmas. Being on a tight budget, I went to the mall last Saturday to look for gifts for my office family. Well, after hunting for more than 2 hours, I decided to not buy anything but squeeze out some of my arty crafty juice.

Here is what happened. My friends happen to LOVE their faces. Haha!

I needed these to make my ENOZ CHRISTMAS PRESENTS:

Some strings to glue at the back.

Christmas wrapper and a roll of pretty blue ribbon .

An illustration board divided into small squares.
Some accents to add the design.
Of course, print out the pictures!
Wrap them and pray that they will like it!
One of the finished products. Yey!!!
Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year!!!

Celine Shoes

I love shoes. I love looking at them. I love trying them on and I love receiving them as a gift.
I got a nice one last Monday. My madir and sister went shoe shopping and since Celine has a sale that time, they decided to buy there. They had a HALF THE PRICE ON THE SECOND PAIR sale.
My sister brought a black one for her and a cream colored sandals for me. Mine was supposed to be the half priced pair but since both has the same price and mine was punched in first, it was the one with the original price of 799.95 and the other one became 399.95.
Anyway, when they went home, we discovered that mine was really small for me. They brought a size 5 pair because both of them thought that me and my mom have the same size! So, naturally, me and my sister went back to the boutique last Wednesday to have it returned / exchanged or whatever that they can do with it. The girl stationed in the cashier said that there was no other size so I can pick a new one with either the same price or a higher one wherein I would pay for the extra if ever. Anyway, I had my eyes set on a pretty wedge shoe but unfortunately, they didn't have a size 6 for it. So I looked for another pair and found these pretty semi gladiator wedge! SO CUTE!!!
These were regularly priced at 1299.95 pesos and since they had a NEW SALE at 50 % off at almost all the shoes, it is now at 649. 95. And the good part was that they have it on my size, so after trying it on, I immediately went to the cashier to have it boxed.

This is where it now starts. The cashier actually didn't KNOW what to do with the returned puchases because of the reason that the price was like this and that and they had a different sale than what they had that day. OMG! It was freakishingly MAD! Like, she was talking on the phone with someone who was SUPPOSED to know what to do. Anyway, it took her like 10 minutes on the phone to decide what to do with my case.

NOW, this is what she said.

SINCE it was priced at 799.95 and the shoe that I will exchange it for is at 649.95, naturally, I have a change amounting to 150 right? So they said that I had to purchase something that would compensate the change. I asked if they had anything amounting to 150 and whapak!!! they said NO. So they suggested that I buy another pair, or buy a plastic slipper which is like for 200 or buy a shirt. I asked if would it be okay to just get the shoe, and they can have the 150 change? They said NO again. I really had to buy something. OMG. I still had to go to work that day so I said that I'll just come back. I left the shoes but got the receipt. ARGH. It was so frustrating. What a waste of time. While walking out of the mall, I told my sister to just come back there later with mama and buy the shoes that they first brought since everything was now on half the price, I thought that they are just going to add 250 to get it. Later that afternoon, my sister came back to buy the shoes back but she was told that she can't purchase something that was returned. ARGH. Another waste of time.
She went back with my mother sometime before dinner and they were told that they really had to buy something. The same CASHIER was there and she told them something that was different from what she told me earlier. Mama looked for something that she wanted to buy, thinking that the pair that she picked was also on sale, she showed it to the girl to purchase it. And then... tadaaaaaaaa!!! The shoe was not on sale. She had to add like more that 800 plus pesos to get it. OMG. This was like the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ASSISTANCE that I have ever seen! My madir was really a bungangera and since she was in a hurry because she was going to attend the Simbang Gabi, she just told them that they can do what they want to the 150 and just let her leave with my shoes.

Do you know what happened? They let her go. What AN IDIOT. That was the same thing that I was telling HER earlier that morning! If she had just managed the issue a bit smarter, it wouldn't have turned into something like this.

I was happy with the shoes, but TOTALLY NOT HAPPY with the SERVICE!   I hope that they would have enough information to help customers like me. They should be ready for the things that could happen in their store.

Even though this happened? The shoes still looked good on me! HAHA!

Christmas Gift

I'm starting to recall my artistic self. I know I don't have the proper training but I'm sure I can find my way through searching self - help instructions from the internet.

Last December 11, 2010 , our company celebrated its yearly Christmas Party. It was an amazing day for us. Everybody enjoyed all the presentations and the awarding. I know most of the guys enjoyed the free food... but sad to say, I didn't became a fan of Korean Food. The taste was just too bland for me. Anyway, I was too caught up on taking pictures, eating , watching the presentation, laughing and talking how much one's dress was really pretty... I almost forgot about the gifts!!!

Thina gave me the IDEA what to ask for my Christmas wish list. She and I were talking for the past few weeks that I would want to try painting again. |One day, our TC gave us a paper where we were supposed to write what kind of gift that we wanted including a secret code name. I was thinking what I would want, when Thina suggested to why not ask for the acrylic paints that I've been talking about so much. It was the best idea for a Christmas gift for me. And when the time came to receive the gift, I was so incredibly so happy to take it.

I am so getting so busy once I get a good canvas to make use of this thingies!!! Love yah Teacher JOY!

I LOVE CHRISTMAS GIFTS!

Scramble Ramble

I had a day out with my sister and we brought some scramble. It's a pink crushed ice mixed with some chocolate syrup and milk. I remember that I used to get this for free when I was like, 5 or 6 years old because my grandmother used to sell this sa kanto. Hehehe.. This one just tastes like the ones that I eat before.. and mind you.. it can get addicting especially if you add more milk on it!!!

So indulge! Enjoy!

so yummy!!!
